What we collect

• On this device: your selected region, favorited species, and pack-list checks, stored in browser local storage. This never leaves your phone unless you later connect an account.
• Optional location: used only in the moment you tap “Use my location,” to pick a US region. Coordinates are not stored.
• Weather: a coarse forecast for the region centroid, requested from Open-Meteo. No personal data is sent.
• If you buy a kit: email and payment status via Stripe. We do not store card numbers. Kit status is also saved on this device so briefings unlock after checkout.

How we use it

To personalize the field guide and fulfill purchases. We do not sell personal data. Gear links may be Amazon Associate links; Trail Watch can earn a commission on those purchases at no extra cost to you.
